Get a Written Estimate – When shopping for home loans, ask for a written estimate. This makes comparison of the loans you are considering much easier and if the lender will not give you a written estimate, look elsewhere.
Your Down payment – Banks and lenders prefer that the home buyer have down payment monies in their account a few months prior to closing. If the buyer is being gifted money, they also need to have some money in their own account. You should be able to show bank statement showing the money just sitting in the bank. Often loans are more expensive if the gifted money is deposited only a few days before needed.
